Some very short stories about meeting people that inspire me.
Kanskje kommer KK (Maybe KK will come) It is fairly surreal for me to think back at this situation, but it is true, I was invited over for dinner at this lovely man and his wife's house, and try to imagine how impressed and flattered we felt when my husband and I came there, and they had actually made their first totally VEGAN meal, in that house, ever. To serve us dinner! And the man that whipped all of that up, (and it tasted absolutely fantastic!) is very famous for a song which states: "maybe the King will come over for dinner here tonight..." and it goes on to state: "we have made the table ready with great food of all kinds". Pretty close to every single person in Norway knows this song, and I was thinking about it afterwards....that is so surreal. But, it was extremely nice. He is a golden man. Nothing less. So warm and wise. His name is Øystein Dolmen. (ironically I have sung for the King as well.......more on that below) |

The legend... During the soundcheck for a concert in Trondheim, a man was sitting in the cafe having lunch. For those of you who know who this man is, you can maybe imagine what kind of feelings where rushing through my body and mind at this moment...The man was Lillebjørn Nilsen, Vetlebjørn the legend! Before he left he said to me he thought we sounded nice.....!!!! I just stared at the man. without a word I just let him walk away.... |

Oh so shy...
To show you how shy I really am, I'm just gonna tell you that when given a chance to say something intellegent to one of Norways best female songwriters, what I did was this: you know that scene in Notting Hill where the googly-eyed sister steals a hug from the famous Anna Scott?? Well, that's basically what I did. And the words..? Where did they ever go? I think they're even shyer than me..
Oh... and the lady was Anne-Grete Preus. (!!)
Our Royal Shyness...
Since we're already talking about being shy, who better to be super aqward & shy around but the very own
His Majesty The King and Her Majesty the Queen of Norway. When I got to share one of my songs with them, and afterwards we all got to say hello, I was real quick to step away and let them talk to all the other people there... Which is actually nice. They said hello to all 120 people there! Now that's impressive. I was super happy I was in the company of all of them, so the Royal Shyness (meaning me) could hide away.. ;)

Facebook twilightzone...
I am now sure that facebook is a parallell reality, almost the same as ours, only up side down. This was proven to me the day my biggest hero in the folksinger world became a fan of ME.... (liked my page) The artists I'm talking about is Mr. Jan Eggum, the artist I would religiously listen to through my later teen years, since he was one of the few strong enough to let true greiving and active depression be a big part of his expression. He is a big part of my development as a human being, not to mention as a songwriter. I actually wrote him and asked: is it really you? And he answered and confirmed that yes, it was him.....I was in such disbelief, I felt as if "the ceiling was the floor and the floor was the ceiling" - allthough comepletely drug-free and as you can imagine: totally happy ;)
